convergence
It is January and again I am struggling with writing an academic paper again. This time I had a clear idea of what I wanted to talk about – the use of sense-making in a research methodology. However, I seem to have gone off onto a convergence tangent, referring to the action of sense-making by the researcher a reason for moving beyond transdisciplinary – this takes research methodology to new heights(?). But perhaps I am the one stretching too far with my need to speak academic-ese with a bit of pop culture thrown in. I probably just want to be more like Henry Jenkins, but just don’t have the right snappy focus. Or it could be that I have overextended myself in the way I usually do – by thinking that everything is more complex than it really is. I see layers of meaning, heaped, mixed and moving – I wish I just saw only dead people.
